  Joe Rosell

Hermann-Josef "Joe" Rosell aspires to teach tennis players of all ages and make the game affordable to everyone. As the owner of his own tennis facility, HJR Tennis School, in London, Ontario, Canada, he is in a position to do both.

"I am committed to keeping the game alive," Joe says. He became a USPTA pro in 1998. "My expertise lies in getting the mental focus and the physical part balanced. I am motivated by seeing a beginner player become an advanced player. I strive to bring out the best in the student."

Joe attended the International Tennis Teacher Academy in Switzerland and received his ITA diploma in 1992 after completing the six-month tennis-training course. He is also a PTR member and active in the German-Canadian Club. He competed in the PTR International Teachers Tournament, the Good Life Tournament, a guest tournament in Fuessen, Bavaria, and a league tournament in Interlaken, Switzerland.

Joe is also a self-employed contractor and has owned HJR Contractor Ltd., for the past 32 years. He constructed and now maintains the clay courts at HJR Tennis School. He considers his greatest accomplishments as a tennis pro to be training the advanced players and correcting bad habits without destroying playing ability, as well as giving free demonstration promotions with sponsors such as Wilson and helping to promote USPTA’s Tennis Across America.

In the future, Joe plans to continue training young players and promote tennis on a national level. The youth program consists of 50 juniors, ages 6 to 18.

Joe is married and has four children and six grandchildren who all "share the tennis virus." His son, Joe, and daughter, Anita, both have the Canadian certificate and help him with his youth programs.
